This policy explains what cookies and local storage technologies the Yolia site uses.
1. What they are and what we use them for
Cookies and browser local storage are small files that a site saves on your device to remember information between visits. Yolia uses them to:
- Essentials: keep you logged in, remember your language and preferred units of measurement (e.g. °C/°F), and protect the site against certain types of attacks (form security tokens);
- Interface preferences: remember visual settings that you have already chosen, so as not to ask for them again on each visit;
- Simulator and sandbox session functionality- Maintain the state of a test or simulation while you use it.
2. What exactly does Yolia keep?
- “YOLIA_SESSION” cookie (essential): Maintain your session and protect forms from falsification. It is deleted when you close the browser and marked as HttpOnly and SameSite.
- Local storage: language, explanation level and this notice (preference): They remember what you chose.
- Farmer Dashboard (no storage): the demo does not save anything in your browser; what you capture exists only while the page is open. If you previously used a version that saved data (key
yolia_agri_v3), the panel automatically deletes it.
- Sandbox (temporary): Keep your last result while the tab is open.
The site's visitor count does not use cookies: it is calculated with a daily identifier that does not allow you to be recognized from one day to the next.
3. Third party services that connect from your browser
Some features load content from third parties, who see your IP address and may use their own technologies: Open-Meteo (forecast and place search), SoilGrids/ISRIC (typical soil in your area), OpenStreetMap and Nominatim (map and place name), Esri (satellite image on some maps), Google Fonts, unpkg and cdnjs (fonts and libraries of some pages) and Stripe (payment, which may use its own anti-fraud cookies). Detail in the Privacy Notice.
4. What Yolia does not do with cookies
Yolia does not use third-party advertising tracking cookies or sell information collected through cookies to advertising networks.
5. How to deactivate them
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies and local storage. Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent basic site functions (such as keeping you logged in) from working properly.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the technologies we use change. We will publish the current version with its update date.
